I had,  as I think you know, re-installed the printer completely as you suggested a couple of days ago. However I did as you recommended a 'semi-full reset' and then set the printer up once again. I ran HP Smart afterwards and everything was listed perfectly. I then tried to do a print from from my pc. It sent it to the 7640 but it never got there. Looking at the 7640's prnt queue there was nothing there.

While you were out Fossett wanted me to change the IP addr of the printer. Why ? What's the rational behind that action ? The process to change the IP addr. is very complicated,  and what happens if I can't complete the process. I'm not a techie. Is there someway  I can grant you access to my pc  and let you change the routers IP addr and/or  try to correct the problem ?

I think it's pretty clear the 7640 isn't talking to my wireless router. By the way,  over the weekend I totally reinstall the 7640 software and drivers .. again

Clinked on the link you supplied and rec'd 'Page not found' It said it could help me though and had a list of options to choose from. I selected Product Support and entered the requested info and I ended up back on the support page I started off with over a week ago which was totally useless. After that I become a member of the 'HP Community.' hoping to get my problem identified and resolved.

This is sooo frustrating and aggravating !

I've been trying to fix the problem of my HP 7640 printer not working with my wireless connection right after I changed a print cartridge. I tried numerous things to correct the problem. Some on my own, others at the suggestion of the HP Support Community Team, many of which are  documented in this large post starting on 12/6/2018. None worked.

Yesterday, 12/16/2018 I tired again on my own. And voila, much to my amazement and surprise I got it to work ! I'm not exactly sure what I did, but someway, somehow I did it.

I used the Control Panel and selected Hardware & Sound.
Then I selected Advanced Printer Setup,
Choosing a device or printer to add to this pc
Selected Printer was not listed
Selected - Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings

I don't recall what manual settings I entered (I went back through the above steps but stopped there because I didn't want to take the chance of messing things up) but whatever they were, they worked.

After the final step It asked if I wanted to print a test page to insure the setup was right, which I did.  And it did print out. The first time in almost two weeks. The printout heading was 'Windows Printer Test Page' followed by 'You have correctly installed your HP ENVY 7640 series on MY-PC' Then it gave a list of the Printer Properties followed by
Print Driver Properties: Driver Name HP ENVY 7640 series, Driver Name: Type 3 - Use Mode, Driver Version 17.59.0.6180
and then a bunch of Additional Print Driver Files.

When the standard boilerplate procedures don't work (reload the software and drivers, restart the router, restart your pc, re-set and re-configure the printer, delete all the HP printer files, etc.)  it's hard to find a solution.

I've been using this 7640 printer for 2 yrs, connect to my HP Notebook laptop via a wireless connection w/o problems. The other day I printed a doc. that had colors that were poor quality so I changed the tri-color print cartridge (which I've done before) and then tried to reprint the doc. I imediately received an error mesg. on my HP Notebook monitor 'print error' No code and/or other msg. I rebooted my pc, (no change) I rebooted my pc AND turned off and on my printer (no change) I rebooted my, Chaturbate Xnxx Tubegalore off/on my printer AND turned off and then on my router (no change) I deceided to reload the 7640 software/drivers. Using the add/remove hardware fuction I removed the 7640's icon.  Then using the HP Scan DR to install the 7640 via the wireless connection option everything seemed to be working until the final step (Installing Network Device) it ran for 3-4 min. and then rec'd msg 'Unsuccessful Network Innstallation' Tried this several times, same result. It cannot find the printer. I have a bkup Espon printer connected the same way and it still works. I've spent hrs trying everything I could think of to resolve this problem.  Help ! !

I suggest you uninstall the printer from root level and download the full feature software
