I am unable to use my HP envy without a subscription.i  did the trial and don't care to use it, therefore, never updated my payment options. Because if this, my account was suspended. Printer regularly disconnected from Wi-Fi. I had to do a full reset on the printer and reinstall. I can't print from pc or phone anymore. Yet, since the printer is already registered to my account, I cannot reconnect it again. I tried to use a different email, not allowed. I've gone circle after circle with various agents to try to have this fixed. Nothing. I HAVE to use the same email I registered the printer to. And my account is still suspended. Never will I ever purchase a other HP product for myself or anyone else. This is madness. I don't need to print enough for a subscription. It's not right. Maybe I'm the idiot for missing the part where this is mandatory when owning HP products. And the agents are terrible. You have to respond within a certain time limit,but they'll completely drop out of communication and you have to go through the whole rigamarole again and again, getting absolutely nowhere. A valuable lesson learned.

Welcome to the HP Community --

 

You do not need a subscription to use your printer.

 

Having signed up for the trial meant that once the trial concluded -- and if you did not cancel -- the trial would automatically shift to your paid plan.

 

Cancelling by way to simply not paying for the service does eventually result in the contract being terminated by HP.

HP Instant Ink is an optional Print-by-Page subscription service for which you are charged a monthly fee for a set number of printed pages.  (Each side of the paper is counted as a separate Page.)

 

While there is no additional charge for the ink, the service is not free and does charge each month.

 

IMPORTANT -- Ink is supplied only with an active subscription -

 

After the service is terminated by you or HP, all subscription ink cartridges stop working and must (should) be returned to HP.  This includes all installed ink cartridges made part of the Instant Ink service and any subscription cartridges sent to you.

 

Selecting the right number of pages for your plan is important.
