Hi @Johnb-69,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Verify Network Connection
- Ensure Same Network: Confirm that both your iPhone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Restart Network Devices: Try restarting your router by unplugging it for about 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
Printer and Phone Restart
- Restart Devices: Power off both your printer and iPhone, then turn them back on.
- Reaffirm Network Connection: Make sure the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi after restarting.
Reset Network Settings
- Printer Network Reset: On the printer's control panel, go to Network Setup, then select Restore Network Settings to reset the printer's network connection. Reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network afterward.
Update HP Smart App
- Check for App Updates: Make sure the HP Smart App on your iPhone is up-to-date by checking the App Store for any updates.
Add Printer Manually
- Re-add Printer: Open the HP Smart App, tap the plus sign to add a new printer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Reset HP Smart App
- Reset App Login: Sometimes, logging out and back into the HP Smart App can resolve connectivity issues.
- Reinstall App: If resetting doesn't work, consider uninstalling the HP Smart App and reinstalling it from the App Store.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: Though primarily for Windows, using a similar tool on another device like a PC can sometimes identify network issues that could affect app connectivity on your phone.
Check Security and Firewall Settings
- Router Security Settings: Security settings on your router can sometimes block devices from communicating. Access your router settings to ensure no devices are being blocked.
I hope this helps.
