Hi @Thom0202,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with your HP Envy Photosmart 7855 printer on your new computer running Windows 11. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Ensure printer connectivity: Make sure your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or over the network if it's a wireless printer. Check the cables and connections to ensure they are secure.
- Update printer drivers: Visit the official HP website and search for the latest drivers for your HP Envy Photosmart 7855 printer. Download and install the drivers specifically designed for Windows 11.
- Run Windows Update: Go to the Windows Update settings on your computer and check for any available updates. Install any pending updates, including driver updates, which may address compatibility issues.
- Remove and reinstall printer: Open the "Settings" app on your Windows 11 computer, then go to "Devices" and select "Printers & scanners." Find your HP Envy Photosmart 7855 printer in the list and click on it. Choose "Remove device" to uninstall the printer. Afterward, click on "Add a printer or scanner" and follow the prompts to reinstall the printer.
- Disable firewall or antivirus: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software you have installed on your computer. Sometimes, these security programs can interfere with the printer's connection or cause issues with printing.
- Check printer settings: Ensure that the HP Envy Photosmart 7855 is set as the default printer in the Windows settings. Also, verify that there are no print jobs stuck in the printer queue.
- Restart printer and computer: Power off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Restart your computer as well. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity or software conflicts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
