HP Envy 6120e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have just purchased the HP Envy 6120e.  During setup I am required to carry out the alignment.  I have printed the alignment page and placed onto the glass.  I press the button to proceed but nothing happens.  The display screen says - Cartridge Alignment then under that it says Scanning the Alignment Page.  Nothing is happening.  I have tried turning the printer off and on again but the same thing happens.

Hi @1_Murphster,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Since the printer is stopping at"Scanning the Alignment Page", let's try the following:

  1. With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.

  2. Wait about 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer back on. This step is commonly recommended for printer initialization issues.

  3. When prompted to scan the alignment page again:

    • Place the alignment page face-down on the scanner glass.

    • Position it in the marked corner of the scanner glass.

    • Ensure the scanner lid is fully closed.

  4. If the issue persists, remove and reinstall both ink cartridges, making sure any protective tape has been removed and each cartridge clicks firmly into place.

  5. If available, open the HP Smart app and check whether you can run Align Cartridges from the printer maintenance tools.

Let us know the outcome, and we will be happy to assist further.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
