I have a Samsun ML-2525 printer and I downloaded the driver from HP.  When I go to print I am not able to find any mention of printer resolution in the print screen.  I have gone through properties and advanced but no mention of it.  I also want to print on glossy paper and my only option is "transparency" and I believe there should be a glossy option as the specs for this printer say it will print on glossy.  Any help on how to adjust resolution and print on glossy?

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

Disclaimer:  I've never seen a Samsung printer.

I think the result reflects the way Reader DC works and the limitations of the Printer Software.

Ideas / General Observations

Resolution is a function of Scan

If you want to change the resolution,

If the printer software supports the Scan options,

If you have a high quality (high pixel count) printed image of the content,

Place the document onto the printer glass,

Check the Scan options for resolution choices.

Note that the highest scan resolutions might only be available when the content is scanned as an image.

Scan the content into the printer (as an image) and save.

Quality is a function of Print

Check in Properties (which opens the printer software / shortcuts) for a Quality settings where you can change the quality from normal to "best".

When i go to my computer for the printer properties I see no option for "best" in terms of quality.

When I download the driver for Windows 7 on an old laptop the driver appears like the manual and allows me to adjust a lot more settings.  So for whatever reason ,the updated driver reduces the amount of features you can toggle including print quality.

The reduced controls might be a result of using the Windows built-in print drivers.

The unknown printer and its printer software is perhaps supported in Windows 7 but not in newer versions of Windows.

If the full solution software is available for your printer and your current version of Windows, install that.

OR

Use the older computer and the older printer software with this printer.
