When my printer stopped suddenly, I went to the official HP site and to chat since I could not find a direct contact otherwise .... HP CHAT said there would be no charge and gave MY NUMBER to scammers who called me - what I just saw reported as a scam - FROM all over the Internet and THE HP CHAT? 1-**bleep**-332-6443 ... They had remote control of my laptop, internet, printer, finances for over 4 hrs and then charged me which I've not paid. What is going on here? Should I get an attorney against HP? I am in my 11th year of severe tragedies, and I don't have time for this. Let me see if I can copy and paste something to show you (and the printer still does not work):

Hi @SharonRhea,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
We're very sorry to hear about what happened. Please know that HP does not record or access any device remotely without the customer’s explicit consent and full awareness. Any time remote access is required, it is only done with your permission, and you are clearly informed in advance during the process.
For your safety, we strongly recommend avoiding engaging with any third-party claiming to be HP without verifying through our official support channels. If you suspect a scam or unauthorized access occurred, we suggest reporting the incident to your local authorities and taking necessary steps to secure your devices and financial information.
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
Best regards,
