I want to login to the embedded web server on my printer so I can set some printer settings. I can open the home page of the web server but I cannot log in. According to the documentation, using a username of 'admin' with no password will work, but tells me that the username and password are wrong. I have not set the admin username and password. The printer is new.
What should I do?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer. The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

edit: I've worked it out thanks, the password is the PIN number under WPS information in the network configuration report.
I followed your instructions and reset my printer.
But I still cannot login to the embedded Web server. I understand that I should use "admin" as user name and no password, but that doesn't work; it says "login failed, make sure your user name and password are correct ". Please advise.
Also, there is no PIN on any of the stickers on the back of the printer or on the base. Also, the serial number does not work as a password.
