HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M577f

I just picked up a lightly used MFP M577 to replace the CP3505 I had that died after a power blink, and have been setting it up, but haven't been able to get the print from USB to work. It's on Firmware bundle 5.7.1.1, under the 'Copy/Print' tab, I have 'Enable Print from USB device' checked, under 'Scan/Digital Send', I also have 'Enable Scan to USB' checked (obviously not related to printing, but it's relevant). When I insert the USB drive, I get a noise and it indicates 'USB Device detected' along with the label of the volume. No errors. When I go to 'Print', I get 'Print job from storage', but there are no refences to USB anywhere. The reason 'Scan to USB' is relevant is with that same USB stick inserted, I can go to 'Scan', then 'Scan to USB' and it scans and writes the PDF to the USB drive, so it obviously recognizes and can read and write to the drive, but for the life of me, I can't get 'Print from USB' to work. Does anyone have any ideas what I'm missing here? I've got to be missing something, but I can't find it for the life of me.

Likely the ports are disabled. You need to enable the ports through the EWS or the control panel

On the control panel go to settings>copy/print and enable usb ports

EWS looks like this, find the setting under security tab

If the port was disabled under 'security', it wouldn't be able to scan to it. It's enabled everywhere that I've found it, but I don't get the option to print from USB.

Ok, so I've 'Kind of' figured this out. It 'SEEMS' to be something with the 5.7.1.1 firmware bundle. I rolled it back to 3.9.12 and print from USB worked just fine. Upgraded it to 4.12.0.1, which is 'visually' the same as 5.7.1.1, and print from USB still works. When I go into 'Print', I get this:

With the 5.7.1.1 Firmware, the only option was 'Print from Job Storage'. So I don't know what the 'malfunction' is with the 5.7.1.1 firmware, but unless there's something buried really deep where I haven't found it, it seems the print from USB is broken in the 5.7.1.1 firmware bundle. I guess, at least for now, since 4.12.0.1 has full functionality and a rather simple UI on the screen that my wife 'should' be able to handle, I'll stay at this revision.

Edit: Apparently, in 4.12.0.1, 'scan to e-mail' doesn't work . The only options I get, despite it being configured in the web interface, are scan to job storage and scan to USB. SIGH.
