Color LaserJet Pro MFP 180n Firmware Downgrade

Zaza...I just got mine to work.  I have been trying all day, but there was 1 little thing preventing it from working.  You have to go into your Service Menu, to the LaserJet update settings and use your arrow to scroll to "allow updates" you will have to select yes and save it.  Then you should be able to proceed with any of the methods to restore.  I personally found a downloadable .exe from another user on a forum for this issue (it's the rfu file, but in the easy to use interface). now hopefully you get it before it's removed.  Download the one for the M180, open it, choose your printer and choose send firmware.  After nearly 8 hours of searching (and HP telling me it wasn't possible) I finally unbricked the printer that I love and can continue to use my cartridges that I feel print better than the much more expensive HP ones.

You can get it from an online seller who sells compatible cartridges. I found one who has a list of older firmware for many printers. I can't share the link here because HP "Support" removes all the links to the old firmware. Google it. I found quite easily.

Also, remember to turn off the auto-update feature in the settings after updating the firmware. I forgot to do this and then had to reload the firmware again.
