I have an HP Envy 6065e printer which I am using with a MacBook Air. Operating system is Sonoma. Under presets I no longer have an option for color printing. I tried printing a document in Word for Mac and the color portion printed in black. I used to be able to print in color. I recently did a computer update and am wondering if that is what caused this issue. Any way to rectify this?

Hi @joni0702,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue you're experiencing with the color printing preset disappearing on your HP ENVY 6065e All-in-One Printer after updating to macOS Sonoma could indeed be related to the recent update. Here are steps to help you resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Settings:
- Open a document or any file you want to print.
- Go to File > Print.
- In the print dialog box, click on the Show Details button (if available) to expand the print settings.
- Look for a Color or Quality setting, which might be under a dropdown like "Layout" or "Printer Features."
- Ensure that the Color option is selected instead of Black & White.
2. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Sometimes, macOS updates may affect printer drivers.
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP ENVY 6065e and click on the - button to remove the printer.
- Restart your Mac.
- Re-add the printer by clicking the + button, and select your printer from the list.
- During this process, macOS should automatically download and install the latest compatible drivers for your printer.
3. Reset the Printing System:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) on the list of printers on the left, and select Reset printing system.
- This will remove all printers from your system, so you'll need to add them back afterward.
- Re-add your HP ENVY 6065e as described above.
4. Check HP Smart App:
- If you use the HP Smart app, open it and check for any updates.
- Ensure the app is updated and configured correctly.
- Sometimes, managing print settings through the HP Smart app can restore missing presets.
5. Try Printing from Another Application:
- Sometimes the issue might be specific to a particular application, like Microsoft Word.
- Try printing a color document from another app, such as Preview or Safari, to see if the color option appears there.
6. Update macOS and HP Software:
- Ensure your macOS and HP software are fully updated. You can check for macOS updates via System Settings > General > Software Update.
- Also, check for any firmware updates for your HP printer.
7. Manual Color Adjustment:
- If the color option is still missing, you can try manually adjusting the settings in the print dialog. Look under Printer Features or a similar section to force the printer to use color.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY 6065e All-in-One Printer User manual
No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
