I recently purchased a hp deskjet 2800e, it’s connected to our sky broadband max no problem but it won’t connect to my computer. It says network connection established but when it goes to complete the setup it says computer is unable to connect to printer. I’ve gone through all the troubleshooting, reinstalled software, reboot WiFi, but nothing has worked.

@Westie20, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Connection Type During Setup

Make sure during installation you're selecting “Wireless” connection, not “USB” or “Direct Wi-Fi.” Sometimes it defaults to the wrong option.

Verify Your Computer is on the Same Network Band

Sky Broadband Max has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

The DeskJet 2800e only supports 2.4 GHz.

Ensure your computer is connected to the same 2.4 GHz band, or the printer won’t be seen by the PC—even though it's on Wi-Fi.

Check Windows Firewall and Defender Settings

Your firewall might be blocking the printer.

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Allow an app or feature.

Make sure “HP Smart,” “HP Network Devices Support,” and “Spooler SubSystem App” are allowed on Private networks.

Temporarily disable third-party antivirus/firewall during setup to test.

Also, refer to this guide: HP Smart app errors during setup and account registration | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
