Hi @Niallb147 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect an HP DeskJet 2710e All-In-One Printer to a Windows Server 2019, you can follow these steps.
Step 1: Connect the Printer
- Physical Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is connected to the server either via USB or through a network connection.
- If using a network connection, make sure the printer is on the same network as the server.
Step 2: Install Printer Drivers
Download Drivers:
- Visit the HP official website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Make sure to choose the correct version that matches your Windows Server 2019 architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).
Install Drivers:
- Run the downloaded driver file on your Windows Server to install the printer drivers.
Step 3: Configure Printer Sharing (if applicable)
- Share the Printer:
- Open "Control Panel" on the server.
- Go to "Devices and Printers."
- Right-click on your printer and select "Printer Properties."
- Navigate to the "Sharing" tab.
- Check "Share this printer" and provide a suitable share name.
Step 4: Connect to the Printer from Client Machines
- Add Network Printer:
- On the client machine, open "Devices and Printers."
- Click on "Add a printer" and choose "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to locate and connect to the shared printer on the server.
Step 5: Test the Connection
- Print Test Page:
- Once the printer is added, try printing a test page to verify the connection.
Additional Tips:
Firewall Settings:
- Ensure that any firewalls on the server are configured to allow printer communication.
- If you're using a network printer, make sure the necessary ports are open.
Driver Compatibility:
- Double-check that the printer drivers are compatible with Windows Server 2019.
Windows Update:
- Make sure that your server is up to date with the latest Windows updates.
Printer Documentation:
- Refer to the printer's manual or documentation for specific instructions related to network or server connectivity.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
