I can’t connect my HP DeskJet 3512 to my Wi-Fi and we don’t have a WPS or a pin option.

Hi @Dee417,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP DeskJet 3512 printer to Wi-Fi without using WPS or a PIN, you can use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel. Here’s how to do it step by step.

Using the HP Smart App

Download the HP Smart App:

  • If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store for Windows or App Store for iOS or Android.

Open the HP Smart App:

  • Make sure your smartphone or computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want to connect your printer to.

Add Printer:

  • Open the app and tap on the “+” icon or “Add Printer”.

Select Your Printer:

  • The app should search for nearby printers. Select your HP DeskJet 3512 from the list.

Follow On-Screen Instructions:

  • Choose the option to connect the printer to Wi-Fi. The app will guide you through the setup process.

Enter Wi-Fi Credentials:

  • You will need to enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password when prompted.

Using the Printer Control Panel

If the app does not work, you can try connecting through the printer's control panel:

Power On the Printer:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on.

Access Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the “Wireless” or “Setup” menu.

Select Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • Look for the “Wireless Setup Wizard” option. This will allow the printer to search for available networks.

Choose Your Network:

  • From the list of available networks, select your Wi-Fi network.

Enter Wi-Fi Password:

  • Enter your Wi-Fi password using the control panel buttons. Make sure you enter it correctly.

Confirm Connection:

  • Once you enter the password, confirm the connection. The printer should connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Note:

  • After connecting, print a network configuration page to confirm the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  • You can also return to the HP Smart app to check the connection status and perform print or scan tasks.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
