HI,

Any chance that the USB cable is defective?

Did the install finally succeed?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Use this link :

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

You can "Let HP find my products" (click on "Identify now") or key in your printer model number.

Make sure it's the right operating system before you download the FULL feature software.

Thanks.

I have tried using the hp print and scan doctor, but it says " another instance of this application is already running"
There's no download under driver software.
Thanks.

Hi @Ryan_93

You can use the In-Os drivers.

Follow these steps:

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

Follow these steps (Blue Dot) to get the IN-OS drivers for your printer.

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer

 Add a printer 1.jpg

  1. Select "Add a local printer"

 Add a printer 2.jpg

  1. Use an existing port

Add a printer 3.jpg

  1.  Click on "Windows Update"  (may take a while to update) and then "HP"

 Add a printer 4.jpg

  1.  Scroll until you find your printer model.

 Add a printer 5a PSC 1200 series.jpg

  1. Click "Next" and walk through the rest of the steps to install your printer.

Do let us know if that helps.

Thanks.

I have tried this before. I waited hours on the update to finish, but it didn't. Is it possible that you can not get drivers for hp psc 1200 on windows 8.1?
Thanks

Hi @Ryan_93,

Any chance that you can try on another PC?

We tried on Win 10, it was ok.  (WIn 10 and Win 8.1 Win In-OS drivers should be the same set)

Thanks.

Which port should i use when adding printer?

HP Recommended

HI @Ryan_93

"Existing port".  You can connect your USB to your printer.

Is it working?

Hi @Ryan_93

You can try that, else leave it as "Use Existing port".

Thanks.
