Hi @Jenn9660,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry you're facing challenges connecting your HP 2700 printer. It's understandable that you'd prefer a straightforward connection without relying on the internet. Let's figure out the best way to get your printer working with your laptop!

  • Does your laptop have a USB port available for connecting the printer directly with a cable?
  • Have you tried connecting the printer via USB, and did the laptop detect the printer automatically?
  • Do you already have the printer driver installed on your laptop, or would you need help with that process?

Let's try these steps.

Check for USB Compatibility:

  • Ensure you have a standard USB cable (USB-A to USB-B) that can connect the printer to your laptop.

Connect the Printer to the Laptop:

  • Turn on the printer and plug the USB cable into both the printer and the laptop.
  • Wait to see if the laptop automatically detects and installs the necessary drivers.

Download and Install Drivers:

  • If the laptop doesn’t detect the printer, visit HP’s support website on your laptop.
  • Search for "HP 2700 series drivers" and download the USB driver for your operating system.

Set the Printer as Default:

  • Go to your laptop’s Control Panel > Devices and Printers (or similar, depending on your OS).
  • Right-click on your printer’s name and set it as the default printer.

Test Printing Without Internet:

  • Open a document and send it to print. The printer should work directly via USB without requiring an internet connection.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
