Hi @KSell,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your printer to a wireless Wi-Fi network, you'll need to enter the correct Wi-Fi password. If you’ve forgotten the password or need to locate it, here’s how you can find it and connect your printer:

**1. Find Your Wi-Fi Password

  • Look for a sticker on your Wi-Fi router. It often displays the default network name (SSID) and password. Note that this is only useful if you haven't changed the default password.
  • Log In to Router:
    • Connect a computer or device to your Wi-Fi network.
    • Open a web browser and enter the router’s IP address into the address bar. Common IP addresses are 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, or 10.0.0.1. Check your router's documentation for the exact address.
  • Access Wi-Fi Settings:
    • Log in using your router's admin username and password. If you haven’t changed these, they might still be the default settings (often found in your router’s manual).
    • Navigate to the wireless settings section. Look for a tab or section labeled Wireless Security, Wi-Fi Settings, or similar.
    • Locate the Wi-Fi password or WPA key in the settings. You can often view or copy it from here.

Check Device Settings:

Windows:

  • On a Windows computer connected to the network, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi network and select Status, then Wireless Properties.
  • Go to the Security tab and check Show characters to reveal the password.

Mac:

  • On a Mac, open System Preferences > Network.
  • Select Wi-Fi from the list on the left, then click Advanced.
  • Locate your network in the list and click the checkbox Show password to reveal it. You may need to enter your Mac’s administrator password.

**2. Connect Your Printer to Wi-Fi

Using the Printer’s Control Panel::

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Network settings.Select Wireless Setup Wizard (or a similar option).
  • The printer will search for available networks. Select your network from the list.
    • When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password. Ensure you input it correctly, paying attention to case sensitivity.

Using HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.:Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to add your printerThe app will guide you through the process of connecting your printer to your Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.

**3. Troubleshooting

  • Double-check that you’ve entered the Wi-Fi password correctly, as it is case-sensitive.
  • Ensure that your printer supports the Wi-Fi network type (e.g., 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). Most printers only support 2.4 GHz networks.
  • Restart your printer, router, and computer to resolve any temporary connectivity issues.
  • If you continue to have issues, you can reset the network settings on your printer and start the setup process again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
