The printer is installed by HP Smart. Connection worked fine although somewhat unstable - now I cannot get it to work.

Hi @JensØjvind

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how inconvenient it feels when the printer shows as connected to Wi‑Fi but does not appear on your PC or iPhones. Thank you for already setting it up with the HP App and sharing the details—it helps us focus on the right steps.

Let’s go through a structured approach to restore smooth connectivity:

Step 1: Confirm Printer’s Network Status

  • On the printer’s control panel, print a Wireless Network Test Report or Network Configuration Page.
  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your PC and iPhones.
  • If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, connect the printer to 2.4 GHz for better stability.

Step 2: Restart Devices and Router

  • Power off the printer, your PC, and iPhones.
  • Restart your Wi‑Fi router and wait until the connection is stable.
  • Turn the printer back on and allow it to reconnect before powering on your PC and iPhones.

Step 3: Re‑add Printer in HP App

  • On your iPhone, open the HP App.
  • Tap the + sign to add a printer.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank 7300 from the list.
  • If it does not appear, choose Set up a new printer and follow the guided steps.

Step 4: Re‑add Printer in Windows

  1. Open the HP App on your PC.
  2. Select Add Printer.
  3. If the printer is not detected, go to Windows Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  4. Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for your HP Smart Tank 7300 to appear.
  5. If needed, enter the printer’s IP address (found on the Network Configuration Page).

Step 5: Update Printer Firmware

Step 6: Run Diagnose & Fix

  • Open the HP App on your PC.
  • Select your printer, then go to Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Follow the on‑screen instructions to automatically resolve common connectivity issues.

Step 7: Test Printing

  • Try printing a simple document from your PC.
  • Then print a photo or PDF from your iPhone using the HP App.
  • Confirm if both devices now recognize the printer.

These steps should bring your printer back into view on both your PC and iPhones. Since you mentioned the connection was unstable earlier, focusing on the router band and firmware update will be especially important.
