HP Envy 120 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently lost connectivity between HP notebook and HP printer.  After numerous uninstalling and reinstalling of printer software, I established an account with HP SmartFriend Complete.  Unfortunately, the tech was also unable to resolve the problem.  Had McAfee tech uninstall/reinstall security software to determine if it was the cause.  It was not.  I cannot access the EWS on my notebook but can access it on my Ipad, and the the printer works okay with my Iphone and Ipad.  I'm unsure if this is truly a printer issue or if something was broken on the notebook during a windows update.  However, I read a post on this forum dated March 18 that describes similar issues with a Mac.

Hi,

All of he aforementioned solutions were tried and failed to resolve the problem.  The issue was finally identified by the second SmartFriend assigned to my case.  She discovered that the problem was caused by my Xfinity gateway and a new device resolved the printer issue.

@Jersey120,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

  • Are the HP Printer and the HP Notebook connected on the same network? Please verify.
    • Touch on the icon the printer and check the network name.
    • Verify if the PC is connected to the same network as the printer.

Try these steps:

Step 1: Restart the Router, Printer, and PC

  • Turn off the Wifi Router, wait for 60 seconds, turn it back on.
  • Turn off the Printer, wait for 60 seconds, turn it back on.
  • Restart the PC.
  • check if you can access EWS page
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step

Step 2: Run the Hp Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
  • Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.
    • If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.
    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in the tool.

Let me know if this helps.
