I installed new ink cartridges, then printed out a diagnostic report. The report said I'd installed the cartridges on 4/15/2016, but in fact the date was 4/21/2016. Okay, so my printer is five days behind, but I can't see where to change the calendar date on the printer. I logged into the printer's IP address, but there's nowhere to change the date there, either. The computer's clock and calendar are correct.

Hi Caesar1948,
You are welcome!
There does not appear to be an option in the settings to change the date and time. However, we can try a semi-full reset, which will restore the printer to it's factory settings, if you would like. I have sent you the instructions in a private message. If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this post has instructions.

Hi @Caesar1948,
Thank you for joining the HP Forums!
I read your post on how your date is incorrect for your ink installation, with your HP Photosmart e-all-in-one B210a printer. I am happy to look into this issue for you!
I would recommend to start off by trying a hard reset, by following the steps in this post, How to perform a Hard Reset, by @Rich1. It is important that the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and not a surge protector.
After, the hard reset, try printing the diagnostic report again, and we will see if the date changes.

Thanks for the tip. I did the hard reset, as prescribed, and printed a new "Quality Report." The report still shows the incorrect date.
This date thing is not a serious issue, and I don't want to use up my newly-purchased ink cartridges printing out reports. Still, we both know the date is wired in somewhere. Question is, Where is it and how can I set it?
Sidebar: The printer's control panel --> Setup Menu --> Tools lists "Print Quality Report." The printed report, however, is labeled "Diagnostic Report." Seems to me we ought to see the same terminology throughout. Just a thought ... .

How intriguing! Thanks for the secret-squirrel info. I want to try that, but I have just one question before I proceed. What's the price for running a semi-full reset? What settings will I lose (and have to rebuild)?

Hi Caesar1948,
You are welcome!
The only thing you have to do is setup the printer again, and reconnect it after the semi-full reset has been completed.
