My brand new printer gets stuck in the set up process because the set up process says not to choose the DIRECT option if that's what shows up - that's ALL that shows up. When I attempt to look for my printer without the DIRECT option, it isn't there. HP has failed. These set up instructions are vague and have led me to waste 2 hours of my life and STILL not have a printer that's connected to my laptop (even though the printer will print the WPS when clicking the DIRECT option on my laptop *facepalm* -clearly the laptop can see it). Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's reset the Printer's network settings: Press the Wireless button ( ) and the Cancel button ( ) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Once done try connecting the Printer to the Wi-Fi.

And use the HP Smart App both on your Laptop to connect: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2073929-1413451-16

Let me know if this helps.
