DeskJet 2710

Hi,

I have a DeskJet 2710, and the seller told me that I can use it also if I don't have a router, but a mobile phone internet connection. I tried and did not get it running.

Do you know if it is possible, and if so, is there a guideline to do it?

Thank you beforehand and best,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

You would need to enable WiFi Direct and connect to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network, then you may print without a network.

You may follow page 23 on its user guide to enable HP Wi-Fi Direct and print a report to locate its name and password:

You may also follow below support document for instructions about printing with Wi-Fi Direct:

Hi,

thank you for your links. That gave a lot more clarity and we made it happen to print.

Nonetheless, its not really an enjoyable, reliable and intuitive experience to print with the phone, because we phase some problems:

  • The HP Smart App does not work for the android phone.
  • The printing seems to work sometimes (when we have started printer and initiated the connection), but then after the first print job, it does not allow to print anymore.
  • Disconnecting and connecting again helps the issue sometimes, but not always.

Have you had some experience with this and can give some advice?

Thanks beforehand and best regards,

Stefan

  • Starting it all again usually works, but not all the time
