In Windows, duplex printing is semi-automatic. Selecting two-sided printing causes a dialogue box to appear when printing begins that describes the duplex printing process. When the print job of the first side completes, the printing pauses and will not continue until the user repositions the paperback in the feeder. Then, printing begins again when the OK button is clicked in the dialogue box.
On my MacBook running macOS Catalina v. 10.15, the duplex option is gone /greyed out, and duplex printing is a totally manual process. There is no dialogue box that appears that pauses the printing. How can I enable this feature in macOS Catalina?
Hopefully, the description of my issue is understandable. smh
Thanks,
JvT

Hi,
You may perform manual duplexing on Mac OS using the Pages to Print option as following, there is no any other option offered on macOS:
From the file used to print click the File menu and select Print.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Press on Show Details to show any available print option.
From the main drop does menu select Paper Handling.
The main menu will usually list the program name (e.g. TextEdit).
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Set the Pages to Print option as Odd Only, as well set the Page Order as Automatic and click on Print.
After the odd-numbered pages have printed, reload the paper with the printed side facing up and repeat the process above by setting the Pages to Print as Even Only this time.

Shlomi
