Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Series compatibility with MacOS 14.1.2

The 2540 printer I have is not used often and is at our other property.  I recently tried to connect it with a new network and could not get it to connect.  I then removed it with intentions of reinstalling.  My MacBook Air does not have a disk feature so I can not load the driver via this method.  I tried to go to HP website to download the driver hardware from there but it won't work.  I'm wondering if when I updated my computer to Sonoma 14.1.2 it is no longer compatible with this printer.  can you advise if that's the case or a work around for getting it set back up?  If the printer is no longer compatible is there another one recommended for the Sonoma system?  My printing needs are minimal - less than 20 a month on average.  Thank You.

Hi,

If the printer is not connected to your network with a blinking blue light indication for the wireless connection, please start by restoring the wireless settings, by pressing and holding Wireless and the Cancel buttons at the same time for five seconds, until the Power button starts blinking

Next, please follow below version of HP Easy Start to reconnect and install the printer,  as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer and connect it to your wireless network:

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.
