I have just bought a brand new Windows 11 laptop, and now my printer does not work. It scans ok, but will not print. It still works fine on the old PC. It would seem to be a problem with the print driver. Is there a patch out there that is not on the Smart HP package? Thanks

Printer App / Software
Both HP Smart and the Full Driver printer software show as available for Windows 11 and this printer.
The driver is a just couple of years (at this writing) and should work.

Printer Connection
One thing to keep in mind:
The printer only supports connections using 2.4GHz
The limitation does not mean the printer cannot connect at all, only that your router must support and allow connections at the 2.4GHz frequency / speed.
If you are using USB, know that HP Smart might - or might not - work with this type of Not-Wireless connection.
You could try using Wi-Fi Direct (see user manual) if you like and if you cannot get the standard wireless to work.

Thanks for your reply and help.
Unfortunately, it still does not work.
- HP Smart via the MS webstore was successfully downloaded, and I logged into the account
- My printer connects to the laptop via wifi fine, and I can see status details.
- The printer scans successfully using the HP Smart utility, but it will not print. If I send a test print, it is deleted from the queue after a few seconds. If I send a print request from a document, it sits on the print queue for about the time it would take to print, then the message 'Finished' comes up, but it does nothing. There isn't even the flashing light that usually indicated the printer is 'talking' to the PC.
- The printer works fine from my old PC using an older HP utility
- I tried using the old utility on the new PC, but it didn't work at all, then a message advising deleting it came up as it might cause problems (I deleted it)
Seems unlikely, but could the (relatively cheap) laptop be the problem?
Any more help would be gratefully received, thanks.

You are welcome.
Economy printers cost less for a reason -- That said, by itself there is reason to believe such a printer can at least perform to its specifications and abilities.
So, I don't know --
Places to (re)check...
"Brand new" systems frequently take more than one run of Windows Updates to gather all the necessary changes. Perhaps recheck / run Windows Updates (again).
I'm suspicious of the Print Queue though I have not evidence to suggest it is the cause of the issue(s).
There is a Temp folder in your account where jobs are processed -- Should there be a permission issue, it takes but a few seconds to check and correct.
HP Smart maintains a section of account data in your own user account. Should that data become corrupted, it can (should) be removed using the HP Smart Reset procedure.
HP Smart must be running the latest version of the application on each device (computer, tablet, phone) where the app is installed. That does not mean every device runs the same version of the HP Smart app -- it means that the app must be the latest version for that type of device.

NOTE
- The following is less than it appears -- extra text has been added to include individual commands.
- Ignore anything you have tried, do not like, do not want, or do not understand.
===========================================
Windows - Print Queue / Print Service Reset
- In most cases, after a print job has been accepted, it is turned over the Windows Print Services for completion.
- When a job is "stuck in the queue", it is sometimes because Print Services is stuck or otherwise “broken”.
- If the job is accepted and quickly disappears, it is perhaps the result of incorrect Temp folder permissions.
First, check that Windows Update does not need to install updates (or Restart)
Settings > Update and Security > Check for Updates
NOTE: If an update is already pending, install that update > Restart the computer and log in
Next…
If the current print job will not cancel or if a previous print job is stuck in the queue,
and
If the issue is due to Print Services being stuck / hung / corrupted,
- Stop Print Services
- Remove any files in the print queue folder(s)
- Restart the Print Service
===========================================
Windows - Details > Manual Queue Reset
> > > Windows 10 / Windows 11 < < <
Windows Start > Search for “Services”
Optional > Right-Click and Pin to Start / Taskbar > Open Services App
> > > Windows 10 < < <
Control Panel > icon view > Administrative Tools > Services
Next,
Scroll down, find, Right-Click, and Stop Print Spooler Service
Open File Explorer (formally Windows Explorer)
Navigate to the PRINTERS folder
NOTE: Folder might be hidden.
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
OR
C:\Windows\System\spool\PRINTERS
Delete any files found in folder
Start Print Spooler Service
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Jobs in Print Queue Disappear
Temp Folder Permissions
If the print job is making its way to the print queue and then disappearing,
Check / Correct the folder permission(s)
Temp folder requires full permissions, including Read / Write, for current user
Check / add / edit permissions for user (current login) on Temp folders
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Users\AccountName\AppData\Local\Temp

Thanks again for your help, but unfortunately no joy.
I have installed and deleted HP Smart at least twice, I have cleared the Temp folder (via your method), I have installed, deinstalled and reinstalled the printer several times. It connects fine on wifi, and will scan, but still not print.
The one thing I am not sure of is the cookies. I do not recall being asked to allow cookies, but I normally refuse cookies, so I may have done so at the very beginning before the fault made itself known. I have not since been asked to allow cookies, so if this is the issue, where can I go to allow the cookies?
Thanks again

You are welcome.
Cookies are generally a feature of your browser settings.
True - Refusing cookies can result in things not working as expected.
I allow necessary cookies -- about every two or three days (and depending on my travels), I go into my browser and clear cookies from any sites that I've visited but are not part of my everyday activities.
Cookies and cookie data management might be located in the browser options "privacy and security" or similar.
For example,
- I use HP sites every day - I clear those cookies once in a while to keep things working but generally allow the coolies to be present.
- I occasionally open sites for temporary reference -- those cookies I clear / remove to keep them from lingering and gathering up more cookie-related data.
If your browser supports the option, you can choose to allow cookies for those sites / locations you wish to trust.
Examples might include
hp.com
the IP address(es) of your printer(s)

Remember that the HP Smart app "Reset" is not the same thing as uninstall / (re)install.
Should I think of anything else, I'll post back.
I might have missed something -- you could perhaps ask your question again in a new thread --
We do not normally support duplicate threads on one subject -- in this case, it might be worth trying to get a different perspective.
