As so many of us have had an impossible time connecting This HP DESKJET 2700e to wifi, or even with the App... I somehow (still scratching my head), landed a tech support - stated very well that he needs to download the software, after I explained I used Safari and not Chrome ( it wouldn't matter- he would have flipped if the other)- then asked me to join Zoho- so he could navigate my screen- in hindsight it was well scripted, but of course I see now all the unnecessary and implausible suggestions, questions, etc etc.  Anyway I called him out on it and he was steadfast... got into my banking. My stupidity- but honestly pray on the generational inept, so please DO NOT USE THIS TACTIC- no matter the frustration.

I think the same thing happened to me today. I needed support for my ENVY 6055e. Would not connect to wifi. Using Google, the first hit when I typed in "hp envy 6055e support" was a website called "all expert solutions". I stupidly let them log in. They claimed I had to pay $799 to get the drivers. By then they had already logged in to my computer, lord knows what they got. Had they told me $799 at the start of the call I would have hung up. I told them I would just buy a new printer. They said a new one would not work either. I hung up, called the REAL Hp support and they determined it was my Eero router. Called Eero, got it up and printing as that is what it was. While doing all of this I changed passwords on my bank account.
