I have a new 3755 that is connected to MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.5 via USB cable. Printer is recognized but when I attempt to print the document appears in the queue and then immediately disappears with no printing.
I believe that to print wirelessly I will have to upgrade the OS.

Hi @BNP1,
Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues while printing to the DeskJet 3755 printer. I would suggest the following steps:
Try resetting the printing systes:
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
- Click “Print Using...” or “Use”, and then select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint. Alternatively, you may select the name of your printer if available in that list.
For more assistance, please follow all the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printers - Print Jobs Stuck in Print Queue (Mac)

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, neither suggestion worked and the same result (disappearance from queue) occurred At this point my guess is that the old OS must be the problem.
Best regards, BNP1

Hi @BNP1,
As I understand you have tried the steps suggested and still having the issue. Don't worry as I have a few other steps which should help you resolve this issue.
Let's try to uninstall and reinstall the printer software:
I recommend you to perform the following steps as a workaround:
- I did some research and found that for this printer there are no full-featured drivers available for Mac Sierra.
- However, in an Apple update there are inbuilt print and scan drivers available for this printer model. Please follow the below steps to install the Mac inbuilt printer drivers.
- Please download the Mac inbuilt drivers from this link: http://hp.care/2flF56z
- From System Preferences, click on Print & Scan.
- Click the Plus sign.
- Select the listed DeskJet 3740.
- Click the drop-down menu next to Use or Print Using and click on Select Printer Software.
- Select the DeskJet 3740 from the list.
- Click OK to confirm your selection and add the printer, then try printing using the configured print queue.
Post performing the above steps, you may try to use the Apple Image capture and test the scanning. I hope this information helps.
If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. I would suggest the next step would be to contact our HP phone support for further assistance!
