M209dwe
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This Printer will not work with a stand alone setup via usb.

We have a no internet policy for printers as they are not trusted hardware. Not often update firmware etc.

The M209dwe will work on USB for around 1h then will block printing.

The printer then prints a bit of paper telling you to connect it to the internet and setup an HP account.

I have 2 of these. Super disappointed i can't use them with a USB connection like every other printer

Does any one or HP have a new firmware or hacked firmware that removes this need for internet. i just want to be able to have my users print easily without an internet connection.

There is no work around for an E series printer. The only fix would be to return this and purchase a standard 209dw series printer. It will cost more but will allow operation without a network connection.
