Don't buy 9018e if you don't have high speed internet!

I have never been so frustrated.  I live in the country with only a hotspot for internet.  Apparently this printer only works when connected to the internet.  I had decided to take it to a relative's house to install the software (which I should not have to do) but in talking to Costco Concierge, discovered that even if I connect it with a USB or ethernet cable when I come home, the printer still must be connected to the internet.  DEAR HP A LARGE PART OF THE WORLD STILL DOES NOT HAVE HIGH SPEED INTERNET!  This warning should be on the outside of the box or researchable.  On system requirements on the box it only says that internet is required for set up. You can't find this out you need internet all the time except in small print or from Costco because HP is NO HELP at all.

Were you ever able to get your printer setup and working without the internet or did you have to return it?

I have the same problem.
