Help
I am trying to download the latest firmware for my HP Officejet Pro 8024 printer. The download reaches 100%, then I get a "download unsuccessful" message. I have repeatedly tried this but the same message appears every time and I am unable to update the printer.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Hi there,
Just write you from France but I have the issue
I download the latest firmware for my HP Officejet Pro 8024 printer.
The download reaches 100%, then I get a "download unsuccessful" message.
I have also repeatedly tried this but the same message appears every time.
I had to block for the moment the updates in the admin options otherwise the printer is turning around in circle

All
At last I have found a solution - but it's not a good one.
My problem was caused by having my HP printer firmware completely up to date - but the printer software seems to think it is out of date and tries to download a newer version. When the software finds that the firmware is up to date - that is when the "Download Unsuccessful" message appears and the software gets caught in a loop trying to download the up-to-date software again.
My solution was to disable automatic firmware updates completely. To do this I needed to use the "HP Smart" app on a computer. From the main menu I selected:
Printer Settings/Advanced Settings/Settings/Security/Administrator Settings
I unchecked the box marked "All Firmware Updates" and clicked the "Apply" button.
My printer has now been running for several days with no further problems.
However, this does mean that if HP release a new version of the Firmware, my printer will fail to detect and install this so it may be necessary to manually check for a newer version of the firmware in due course.
