I know I have accepted a solution to this problem, but I am still having some trouble and not sure what to do.  I go out my old router and was able to get the printer setup and it worked great.  Then I put my new router back into place and thought everything should work since I am using the same IP structure that I used on the old router.  Well to my surprise it does not work as with the old router.  Now I can make a scan, it is a little slow performing the scan, but it works.  Now comes the problem, when I go to save the scanned document it won't allow me to save the PDF.  HP Scan and Capture just hangs up and all I can do it close the app.  So since I can now communicate with the scanner, I thought I would try to use the HP Print and Scan Doctor to resolve the issues.  Well this goes along and everything is fine until it gets to the Windows (WIA) Scan.  Here it fails.  After failing the first try, it said I needed to reboot and so I did.  Then after rebooting, it retired the operation and failed again.  Now it says "This tool is unable to solve the problem even after a restart".  How do I get this issue resolved?  I need to use my new router as we recently got fiber optic connected and I can't go back to the old router.  The really strange part of this is that my other PCs that have the software already installed work without a hitch.  How do I figure out what is getting blocked and how do I get it unblocked?

OK, I did an internet search for the issue I was still having and have now found a resolution for it.  I have everything working.  I still need to figure out how to open up the ports on my new router so I can do the installation correctly.  Any tips on what ports need to be opened for the installation to work properly?

You should not have to manually open any ports. Can you reset your router to factory settings? Do you have any special settings you've used?
