HP Deskjet 2620

Hi there,

Complete technophobe here so please bear with me - I bought a new printer (HP Deskjet 2620 All-in-One Printer) which was delivered on Monday. Set up no problem on Monday, came down on Tuesday to a message (on one of the HP apps) stating I need to run updates which I did and now I'm told there are no drivers. I've tried unsuccessfully for the last three days to uninstall, download drivers, add a printer and I'm just coming across the same problem time and time again.

I've had a friend log in tonight via remote access and he's unable to figure out what's going on too.

Printer is on the Wi-Fi and I can send documents to the printer via my mobile which I could cope with given the current virus situation but, the documents I need to print aren't accessible from my phone and I'm completely at a loss for what to do next. I've got a tight deadline to meet and ideally need to get these prints done by Tuesday.

I've gone through HP Smart, Print and Scan doctor, virtual agent etc multiple times and I'm pretty much at my wits end.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Thanks & Stay Safe x

Hi @VicL_1232

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "Driver not installed" issue.

What is the operating system on your computer?

 Meanwhile, Try the suggested steps below -

Windows-

 Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from software and drivers page

Mac-

1. Click Finder in the Dock.

2. In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, and then open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.

a) If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double click it, and then follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.

b) If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue to the next step.

3. Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.

4. In the menu bar, click Go, click Go to Folder, type /Library/Printers, then click Go.

The Printers folder opens.

5. Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.

6. Restart the Mac.

7. Right-click or Ctrl + click the Trash icon, and then select Empty Trash.

And then reinstall the Easy start from the Driver tab software and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
