I had to have my Windows 10 reinstalled due to a glitch. As a result, my printer became unavailable. I've done the reinstall several times (can I skip out of the advertisements at the end for HP Connected, etc. and still complete the install?)
Couple of times, the printer shows up in my list of devices. However, printing doesn't work because I get a message that says Driver is unavailable.
Pretty confused and would appreciate any help!
Thanks!

The following procedure may work. It is a multi-part process to clear out the existing bits of software, clear the pathway to allow the installation to work, and fix any possibly registry weirdness.
Caveats:
- The last part of the procedure does require one more installation of the printer software after the "other bit" are completed. Yes, I know...
- I don't know of any way to "by pass" the adverts.
- You can "X" out of the program when it finally gets to the "continue online" to open the webpage. It will balk and ask, "Are you sure?", Click yes and be done.

If you have already tried to reinstall the printer software and the program just won't install
OR
If it appears the software does install and then does not work as expected,
Try / Consider the procedure to clear the print setup and then reinstall the software.

Corrupt OS components can prevent installation of Full Feature Software.
Essentially the same fix as for the “not compatible with a policy” error, this repair method can help in those cases where Windows Updates might have corrupted driver components in the Operating System.
The following are examples of the same procedure; the only difference is the presentation. Take your pick.
