I've spent the past four hours trying to get my printer connected to my husband's PC.  Although wifi and Bluetooth are working, I am getting a "driver unavailable" message whether I try to put the PIN number or Serial numbers in depending where I've been in my "adventure."  Eventually I got a message to go to google.com/device and enter a code that suddenly appeared on my printer (I have no idea how I got that far),  Sadly, the prompts given once I'd done that were not found on my printer screen.  I had two hours before the code expired, which it did.

Please, someone, help!

Hi  @CMF64,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I completely understand how this must feel after spending so much time trying to get things working you’ve been very patient, and I’m here to help you get past that “driver unavailable” issue .

Could you please share the exact printer model number

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Check Windows Update: Sometimes Windows automatically installs the right driver. Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update and run updates.
  2. Download HP Smart App : Install the HP Smart app . It often resolves driver issues by handling setup and updates automatically.
  3. Use HP App ( https://www.hp.com/us-en/hp-app/overview.html  ) : This  tool from HP diagnoses and fixes common driver and connectivity problems.
  4. Reinstall the printer: Remove the printer from Devices and Printers, restart your PC, then add it again using “Add a printer.”
  5. Check USB vs Wi-Fi setup: If Wi-Fi setup is giving trouble, try connecting via USB first to ensure the driver installs correctly, then switch to wireless.

Once you share the printer model, I can give you the exact driver download link and walk you through the installation

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
