Need driver that works, ones I downloaded only work a few minutes

I understand the issues you're facing with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 driver might be due to several factors, including compatibility issues, incomplete installation, or conflicts with other software. Here are steps to ensure you get a working driver and resolve the problem:

1. Uninstall Existing Drivers

First, uninstall any existing HP drivers completely.

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  2. Find any HP printer software/drivers and uninstall them.
  3. Open Device Manager:
    • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
    • Find your printer under Printers or Other Devices, right-click it, and select Uninstall device. Make sure to check the box that says Delete the driver software for this device.

2. Clear Print Spooler

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Find Print Spooler service, right-click it, and select Stop.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in this folder.
  5. Go back to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

3. Download the Latest Driver from HP  Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 All-in-One Printer

  1. Go to the HP Support website for the OfficeJet Pro 8035.
  2. Select your operating system (Windows 11) and download the latest full-feature driver.

4. Install the Driver

  1. Run the downloaded driver installation package.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully. Ensure that you connect your printer to the computer only when prompted by the installation process.
  3. Restart your computer after the installation is complete.

5. Update Windows

Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date:

  1. Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

6. Check for Conflicts

Ensure there are no conflicts with other software:

  1. Disable any third-party antivirus or firewall temporarily and see if the issue persists.
  2. Ensure that no other printer drivers are conflicting with your HP printer driver.

7. HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can help diagnose and resolve common printing and scanning problems.

8. Manually Add the Printer

If the problem persists, try manually adding the printer:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for Windows to search.
  3. If your printer is not found, click The printer that I want isn’t listed.
  4. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next.
  5. Choose Use an existing port (usually USB001) and click Next.
  6. Select HP and then your printer model. If it's not listed, click Windows Update and wait for the list to update, then select your printer.
  7. Complete the installation process.
