HP ENVY 5020 All-in-One Printer

Hello. I'm having problems with my  ENVY 5020 All-in-One.

For some time it had been showing as OFFLINE and didn't print from PC but worked from mobile using eprint and also via email.

The other day I reinstalled the printer through HP Smart and it worked once then went offline again. It still worked through eprint and email.

At all times, it was connected to my WiFi network and showing IP address, solid blue light etc.

Today, while trying to resolve the issue I switched on and off, unplugged and plugged in, restarted PC, uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers (including deleting from print server settings, deleting folders in HP folder etc. No luck. I've run troubleshooters, Print and Scan Doctor, all to no avail.

Then I reset the printer to factory defaults and it now it won't even print via eprint nor email. On restarting, it said the printer had to be enrolled in Instant Ink to be able to print.  I resolved this by going to Network Services and activating, upon which it assigned a new, completely different email address which apparently can't be changed(?)

Printer now shows connected to WiFi with the same IP as before, tapping on envelope icon it says Printer is Ready, status reports can be printed, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will get the printer to show up on PC, and no longer prints via email nor eprint either. Internet, WiFi, everything else in in order.

The only thing that does work is installing with USB, but wireless printing will NOT work, only via USB.

I'm at my wits end. I really hope someone can help and thank you in advance!

Hi @xKarKx,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

You’ve done an excellent job of diagnosing the issue from your end. Superb effort and spectacular research were done as well.  Kudos to you on that score.

We need to perform a Semi full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
