DELL LATITUDE e7440
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Withour warning, my WiFi enabled and networked Envy 5540 stopped printing anything in color. I've uninstalled and installed drivers, software and firmware with negative results. Here's the funny part: When I attach the printer to my laptop with a cable, it prints in color. WiFi print: no color. USB cable print: color. Why? Running Windows 10 Pro, latest MS Office, so why doesn't the Printer print in color over WiFI?

It's nowhere in the manuals or online support or FAQ's, but the problem is caused by the printer being installed as a "Network" printer instead of just a printer. This happens when software is upgraded and the new software "sees" the printer attached to a WiFi network. The assumption is that the printer is used my multiple PC's instead of just one, like mine.

To fix the problem, uninstall the printer and drivers. Then reinstall it, but use a USB cable to install the software. When you're done take off the USB cable , turn on the WiFi and connect the printer. Voila! it works.
