Been methodically through the install and setup routine but still cannot print from my PC, though it scans ok. Have tried every suggestion on these sites repeatedly over the past 6 days but after reinstalling, redoing setup etc I still cannot get it to link properly for printing with my PC. However I have managed to get it set up and working correctly on my wife's laptop ok so it's not a network issue. Followed exactly same setup process on my HP desktop PC but the printing link just isn't there. I've undertaken regedit scans and health restores, reset printer memory, unplugged, replugged, reset BT hub, used USB cable, even set up a new user account and tried it from there. I've done everything all the blogs suggest and still no luck., I am at a complete loss.

@KevinE2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Does your wife's computer have the same OS as yours - Win 8.1?
There is no printer driver available on the HP Support site for this model printer to work on Win 8.1 OS.
If you are able to print from the other computer, it means the printer hardware is working fine.
Is the printer wirelessly connected to your computer?
- Make sure the printer and the computer are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
Install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.
Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you Kumar. I tried what you suggested but still no luck, it would not even print a test page at the end of the procedure. The device printer information page confirmed the device is on the network. I look at Add Device and it detected the printer ok, listing it as : " ENVY 6000 series (HP) 192.168.1.180" and after going through that process it would not print a test page. It had then added a 2nd instant called "HP ENVY 6000 series PCL-3 on MAIN PC \\MAIN PC\HP ENVY 6000 series PCL-3", still no luck following that through, which only added a 3rd instant.

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:
Check for any pending Windows updates first.
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Remove the existing printer entry > click on Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
- Try printing.
Keep me posted.

Thank you Kumar. I followed your instructions, first removing all 6 entries of the ENVY in Device manager that had built up over my attempts this last week. The process was easy to follow and went through ok, but still would not print test page at end. I then used HP Print & Scan Doctor, which went through ok and this did print a test page (as it always has), though normal printing from Excel, Word, iTunes etc still not working. (might be relevant - before doing the above, as you suggested, I checked for any outstanding Windows updates and installed all of them. There was an error msg at the end of the install 80070490 saying not all updates installed successfully. I rebooted and ran it again - same result.
