Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Officejet Pro 8210.

After Power On or Restart printer always demanding a language choice. After doing so - no matter which - and confirming my choice I allways get ERROR CODE: OXB8284398 .

Not sure - I think there was an update routine running automatically on the printer before the mass began.

Hi @Sprotte,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXB8284398 on an HP Officejet Pro 8210 printer indicates a problem with the printer's firmware or software. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.

Restart the Printer: Try restarting the printer again. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve temporary glitches.

Factory Reset: If the problem persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Please note that this will erase all settings and configurations, so you'll need to set up the printer again from scratch. Here's how to do it:

  • a. Turn off the printer.
  • b. Press and hold the Wireless and Resume buttons simultaneously while turning the printer back on.
  • c. Continue holding the buttons until the Power light starts blinking, then release the buttons.
  • d. The printer should now reset to its factory settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to set it up again.

Update Firmware: Outdated firmware can sometimes cause issues like this. Visit the HP Support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If so, download and install the latest firmware following the provided instructions.

Remember to back up any important settings or configurations before performing a factory reset, as it will erase all customizations.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @sd130,

Hi @JayBee42 ,

Hi @JHTHOMPSON

Thanks for sharing the details. If you are getting the same error,

Let's perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings and see if that works.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Note: If this does not fix the issue, you may have to contact phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Printer is running properly again !!

Don't know which of these steps participated in solution - I did:

  1. Firmware actualized
  2. EWS (Embedded Web Server) refreshed/reinitialized
  3. New Version of HP SMART Software installed
  4. In HP SMART – Settings Country and Language selected to my choices. It was now possible! I did it not on printer display (would have been worked as well??)
  5. First time for a while the printer display shows sth else than boring language choice menue.  Confirmed some setting issues and TaTa: Printer is in Main Menue and works fine.
  6.

Hello,

my 8210 gets stuck in the language selection menu with this Error Code as well. I can no longer perform a partial reset. Can I please also get a hint on how I can carry out a factory reset or install the latest firmware?
Kind regards
