Installed updates recently. Now printer will not print in color. The black&white or color options in dialog box no longer appears, so there is no choice. Printer will only print in black&white. Printer diagnostic shows ability to print color. How to solve this problem in software???

Hello, @Ann967 – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out! I’d like to help with the printer issue!
Going through your post, I understand that you are facing issues while printing in color after a recent update. We can easily fix this issue by a clean printer install. Here are the steps:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL61222/mp-147801-1/EN4520_Basicx64_1122.exe to install the software.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!
Good luck 🙂

Thanks so much for your answer. In frustration and last resort, I did uninstall the printer myself and then installed the printer driver again. It did solve my problem. We thought of the same solution, only slower for me. Thanks again
