Envy 4524
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

As many others in this forum I have a problem with my HP Envy 4524, as it only prints in black and white while in Windows 10. I have no options to turn on color printing, and I already deleted and reinstalled drivers multiple times; I also reinstalled Windows 10 after a full HDD format in the meanwhile. On the other hand, printing from MacOS and Linux is fine, so I guess it should be something on the Windows driver side. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but please: let's skip all the "delete and reinstall drivers" and other canned solutions, as I have already tried them. I'm looking for a real solution here.

Thanks.

@Lorthirk, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This is an issue related to the printer driver compatibility with Win 10 OS after the recent Windows update. Install HP driver which is for Win 7 from the HP Support site.

Click here to download the Full-featured driver.

Try printing in color. Doing this has helped several users.

Note: Make sure the previously installed driver is completely uninstalled before installing this version.

Alternatively, you may install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi @Kumar0307 and thank for your reply.

Unfortunately, a couple of days ago I had a power surge in my home and the printer died, so I won't be able to try your suggestion. However, again, thank you for that one since using the Windows 7 driver is something I never read around and looked like a valid suggestion. So I'm going to mark it as an answer, hoping to help someone else with the same issue.

Thanks for your help.
