Envy 5540 printer no longer prints from laptop in colour, nor auto double-sided using duplexer
Prints sent to my Envy 5540 from my laptop used to give me the option to print in colour, and to automatically print double sided using the duplexer.
Both of these still work printing from an ipad, so it seems to be a problem between the laptop and the printer.
If I get a "print status report" from the Printer Assistant, it says there is a duplexer installed, and prints the estimated colour ink level in colour, but if I print from an application (Word, or pdfs, or printing emails) it prints in black only, and won't do automatic double sided. It is not that the options are set incorrectly in printer properties - the option of printing in colour or automatically printing double sided simply don't appear. It is as if the laptop thinks the printer is black only, and has no duplexer.
I have re-installed the software from the HP website (more than once), but it makes no difference.
Does anyone know if this is a Windows 10 update issue -i.e. that HP have simply not updated their driver (the date on the driver on the website is 2017) to cope with the Windows update?
Any help or thoughts anyone has would be much appreciated!
Thank you

@JG30, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Have you tried connecting the printer using a USB cable and print in color?
This seems like a print driver compatibility issue. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.
Let me know how this goes.
