HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer

Good morning everyone! my problem is that my Envy 6030 printer, connected to the PC via USB cable, is not detected by the HP Smart program: when it searches, it does not find it. Instead Windows 10 detected it and installed a driver (HP Envy 6000 series PCL-3); it appears in the "Devices and Printers" list but is "not connected". It also appears in the printer list in the Word print window, but when I print a document, it doesn't start. I also tried the HP Easy Start program, but it also doesn't detect it. The HP Print and Scan Doctor program does not start: the message "It has stopped working" appears. I tried to configure the WIFI connection, but the USB connection is also required for the initial configuration, so it fails. I tried plugging the printer into another USB port and also tried replacing the USB cable: all in vain, the printer still goes undetected. During my installation attempts the printer blinks a sliding purple light. At this point, I don't know what to do except think that the printer is defective. Can anyone give me a suggestion? Thanks a lot in advance.

Problem solved, thanks: it was the defective USB cable.
