I removed my printer from account in an effort to get it to connect to WiFi. It is stuck in error mode, and  despite several attempts at doing a factory reset or hard reset, nothing works. This printer does not have a display screen. And I’m not able to connect to WiFi to use HP smart to reset. I really appreciate some help as it’s completely useless.

Hi @carolu-x

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—it’s genuinely frustrating when your printer feels locked in error mode, especially without a display screen to guide you. You deserve a smooth reset and a reliable connection, and I want to help you bring your ENVY 6055e back to life.

Here’s a focused set of steps to help you reset the printer and reconnect it to Wi-Fi without relying on the HP Smart app initially:

Perform a Full Power Reset

  • While the printer is powered on, unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on—this clears residual errors.

Trigger Wi-Fi Setup Mode Manually

  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
  • This should restore the printer to Wi-Fi setup mode (the wireless light will blink slowly).
  • If the light doesn’t blink, repeat the step and hold for up to 10 seconds.

Connect Using HP Smart App

  • Download HP Smart for Windows.
  • Open the app → Click Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the prompts to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Reset Network Settings (if needed)

  • Press and hold the Wireless button for 10 seconds until the light blinks.
  • This resets all network settings and prepares the printer for a fresh connection.

Update Firmware

Let me know how the printer responds after these steps. If the wireless light starts blinking and HP Smart detects the printer, you’ll be back in control. If not, I’ll help you explore deeper recovery options to get it working again.
