I'm attempting to install the print driver but am stuck on a screen that's titled HP Product Improvement Study. It's asking me whether I use the printer in the home or in a business. Below that is an untitled box that accepts only numbers. I can't click continue until I fill in that box but there's nothing on the form that says what the box is for. Any ideas?.

Hi @DWH306
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems like you're encountering a common issue during the HP driver installation process. The untitled box in the "HP Product Improvement Study" screen typically requires a numerical input, but the purpose of the number isn't clearly explained. Here are some steps to help you proceed:
1. Enter a Neutral Number
- Try entering a neutral number like 1 or 0 in the box. This often works as a placeholder to bypass the screen.
If you'd prefer not to enter any placeholder number, you might consider an alternative approach to bypass that screen during the installation process.
Here's what you can do:
Use HP Smart App for Installation
Instead of the HP Easy Start or full driver package, you can use the HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store.
- Use the app to set up and install your Envy 7855 printer without encountering the "HP Product Improvement Study" screen.
Customize Installation Process
When running the driver installation, you might see an option for a Custom Installation instead of the default one. This may let you avoid optional prompts like the Product Improvement Study altogether.
2. Restart the Installation
- Close the installation wizard and restart the process. Sometimes, the issue resolves itself after restarting.
3. Skip the Product Improvement Study
- If the installation software allows you to skip optional fields, look for a Skip or Next button to bypass this screen.
4. Reinstall HP Easy Start
- Uninstall the current HP Easy Start software and download the latest version from the HP Support website. This can resolve glitches in the installation process.
