Hi @Nik3049,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The error UU_400_EB000U0701 is typically related to a registration or web services issue, most commonly seen when trying to register the printer to HP services (such as HP Smart / Instant Ink/account linking).

To help you better, may I first confirm:

  • Are you currently trying to register the printer or sign in through HP Smart
  • Does the error appear during setup, account login, or enabling Web Services

Steps to resolve this issue

Step 1: Restart the printer and the network

  • Turn OFF the printer
  • Restart your WiFi router
  • Turn the printer back ON after 1–2 minutes

Step 2: Check Web Services

  • Open HP Smart
  • Select your printer
  • Go to Advanced Settings (EWS page)
  • Look for Web Services

If enabled:

  • Turn it OFF, then turn it ON again

If not enabled:

  • Enable it and try registering again

Step 3: Remove and re-add the printer in HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart
  • Remove the printer from the app
  • Click + Add Printer and set it up again

Make sure you are signed into your HP account before adding.

Step 4: Reset Web Services

From the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Go to the Web Services tab
  • Select Remove Web Services
  • Then enable it again

This refreshes the connection with HP servers.

Step 5: Check date, time, and region

  • Ensure your printer and device have the correct date/time and region
  • Incorrect settings can cause registration errors

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
