When I try to scan, I receive this message "The action “Scan Items from HP Devices” encountered an error: “NSWindow drag regions should only be invalidated on the Main Thread!” I am at a loss as to what this means & how to fix it.

TIA,

Gena

@GSM81, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  • Are you able to make copies on the printer?
  • How is the printer connected to the computer?
  • Is there any antivirus/security software installed on the computer?
  • Have you tried scanning using the Apple Image Capture?

Meanwhile, refer to the document HP Printers - How to Scan (Mac) for alternate scanning methods.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi TEJ1602!

As you can see, it's been some time since your response to me. Due to life circumstances, this has been the first time I've been able to sit down with this.

Ultimately, as I began to go through your check list, the printer wouldn't print make any copies due to its now needing ink. I replaced the black ink cartridge, and afterwards the printer was just up and running. (Prior to this, I had been getting "low ink" messages).

Question: would low ink be a cause for the previous issue, or could whatever mysteriously caused the printer to no longer connect wirelessly in the first, just as mysteriously, have resolved itself?

I thank you anyway, for offering your assistance in helping me resolve this!
