After much trouble shooting I have determined the error only occurs while connected with WIFI. Both 2.4 and 5 give the same error after about 3 hours. While connected by USB I do not get the error.

Modem ARRIS DG2460. Firmware version 9.19103V. Carrier Suddenlink.

After going into the advanced WIFI settings on the printer and turning off the IPv6 option the error has not returned while on a WIFI connection. I will further test this by turning on the feature and waiting to see if the error re-occurs. Update to follow.

I think I can help get rid of your error.

Use the printer LCD and go to settings.

Then scroll down to Network Setup.

Then scroll down again and go to advance settings.

You will see a screen that has IPv6 on it ... turn it off.

Now your error codes will not return.

Please let me know if this works.

I have exactly the same problem.
My new new printer HP Office Jet 5230 is connected via USB to my main desktop and printing. But more or less evry 2nd day, when someone from the family is printing via network then the printer crashes with error code 0XD8077900 Kernel_Exec_ST. Only switch off/on helps to recover the printer.

Any solution to avoid the problem available?

I have a new 5255 and while I hate to sound so helpless, how does one access tools/settings/preferences?  My screen has large copy/scan/fax icons on the top and 5 smaller icons across the bottom, none of which seems to access tools.  Any advice much appreciated. (And yes, I installed the printer yesterday and woke up to that 0XD..... error code.

Thanks

Center icon at bottom (wifi), then settings icon (round cog) lower left, then scroll down using bar in right of screen till you see Advanced Settings - select, then you should see IPv6 slide button to off position.

Got it, thanks.  Will see if this solves the problem and thanks again for the quick, clear, courteous reply (and help).

DrandCpa,

Can you help me understand your enviroment?

1. Who is your internet provider?

2. Did your internet provider supply your router?

3. what is the make and model of the router?

4. is your printer setup wirelessly.

5. How did you set the perinter up. i.e. computer, mobile?
