HP OfficeJet Pro 9014e All-in-One Printer

During setup with HP Smart it asks me to enter the location (Spain) but this error code appears. 

UA_400_EB000U0422

It will allow me to set up the location (UK) but then when I come to input the trial for ink it only gives UK addresses and we are in Spain.

We have tried, new accounts, new emails, removing all printers and resetting the system but we need help as currently we have an expensive piece of plastic in the office that can't be used.

I understand you getting the error code UA_400_EB000U0422 that you're encountering during the setup of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9014e seems to be related to a mismatch between the printer’s region setting and the country you are trying to register it in (Spain vs. UK). This issue is often connected to HP Instant Ink, which is region-specific for billing and support.
 

Suggested Steps to Resolve:

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer to ensure any previous settings (like region) are cleared.
  • Power off the printer.
  • Press and hold the power button and the cancel button together, then power on the printer.
  • Release the buttons when the printer starts up.

Region Selection:

  • During the HP Smart setup, when prompted for the location, choose Spain. Avoid selecting the UK, as it will cause region-specific issues (such as Instant Ink availability).

Create a New HP Account:

  • Use a new email address when creating an HP account. Make sure your account and address information are set to Spain in your HP profile.

Check Instant Ink Eligibility in Spain:

  • Ensure that the Instant Ink service is available for Spain. If the issue persists during the Instant Ink trial registration, visit the HP Instant Ink Spain website directly and try to register from there: HP Instant Ink Spain.

Clear HP Smart App Cache:

  • Clear the cache and stored data in the HP Smart app before retrying the setup.
  • On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Advanced options > Reset.
  • On mobile: Clear the app cache from your mobile settings.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer is running the latest firmware. You can download the latest firmware from the HP Support website.
