Hello. I'm a 56 year old technophobe. Like many others I get the error message, just when I think I've managed to set the printer up.
I tried turning off the vpn for the hp smart app, but no joy.
When I click on the list of printers though, under the 'add a printer' option, the one I've bought (deskjet 2800e series) isn't on the list of models associated with the hp smart app - do i need to download a different app??
On the HP customer service page, the serial number I put in brings up a model thats not a 2800e- think it was a 2810.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @JuliaF2 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the frustration you're experiencing with your printer setup. Let's try to troubleshoot this step by step.
- Error Message EBS00P0010: This error typically indicates a problem with the printer hardware. First, try to power cycle the printer. Turn it off, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. See if the error persists after this.
- HP Smart App Compatibility: It's possible that the HP Smart App may not yet have listed your specific printer model. However, you should still be able to set up your printer using the app, even if your model isn't explicitly listed. Make sure you're using the latest version of the HP Smart App, and try setting up the printer again within the app.
- Alternative Setup Methods: If you're still having trouble with the HP Smart App, you can also try setting up your printer using your computer's built-in printer management system. On Windows, you can go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, then click "Add a printer or scanner" and follow the prompts. On Mac, you can go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, then click the "+" button to add your printer.
